Technology Capital recently invested $26 million in Polymer Vision, a spinout from Philips' technology incubator who unveiled world's first prototype of rollable display in Sept. 2005. Technology Capital now holds around 60 percent of the shares in the company, while Philips still retains a 20% stake in the new company.

According to Philips, the transaction will allow Polymer Vision to push ahead with its commercialization plans to meet strongly growing market demand from the mobile device industry. Volume production of its 5-inch monochrome rollable display will start this year in cooperation with existing partners.
