In the recent SID2006 international symposium, Seiko Epson Corp. ("Epson") announced their latest development of an A6-size (7.1 inches on the diagonal), 0.47 mm thick electronic paper, with Quad-XGA resolution (1536 x 2048 pixels).

The enabling technologies of this new product include low temperature polysilicon thin film transistors (LTPS-TFT) and surface free technology by laser ablation /annealing (SUFTLA), which enables the transfer of TFT circuits to flexible substrates. This product also uses the electrophoretic devices made by E-ink.
